Changing of the Leaves

17 Reaping (September 21)

The Changing of the Leaves celebrates the autumnal equinox, which signals the end of summer, the beginning of autumn, and, of course, the time when the leaves begin to turn colors and fall from the trees. Naturally, such a time is sacred to followers of Sehanine, and so in communities where the goddess has a presence, this day is quite an occasion.

Celebrations vary from place to place, but usually consist of a large feast, good-natured sports competitions, and dancing. Once the sun goes down, many lovers sneak out into the night to find privacy among the trees and under the moon – Sehanine’s face gazing down on them fondly.
