Day of Lore Absorbed

27 Mid Harvest (June 11)

The first of a linked pair of holy days of Ioun, the Day of Lore Absorbed occurs at roughly the same time as the mid-season harvest. Symbolically, taking the crops from the ground matches what the faithful of the Great Teacher must do on this day – they must spend the entire day (or close enough) in solitude, learning something new. What they learn does not matter, nor does it have to be complicated or lengthy. So long as they end the day knowing something they did not know before – the history of a small village, the basics of a new language, even a new ritual – they have shown their devotion to their goddess…but their obligation does not end there.
