Harvest Festival

29 Harvest (October 31)

The Harvest Festival is perhaps the second most anticipated holiday of the year, right after Springfest, though these two rank with the Coming of the Sun for how much people look forward to them.

Occurring on the final day of the year, the Harvest Festival is essentially a celebration of the end of the year, the end of the hard work of the harvest, and the beginning of a new year, all rolled into one. Thus, Pelor is the god primarily honored by the festival, though Avandra is sometimes mentioned, as the year is changing from one to another. People mainly are happy to have a day on which they do not have to worry about anything, and can simply relax and recover from the previous month’s difficult labors.

In more urban areas, this festival is more to mark the end of one year and the beginning of another. Celebrations are more lively, and mainly consist of feasting and getting drunk.
